NAPIER WOOL SALE. [Pkb Peers Association. 1 papier, December 1. The first wool sale of the season was heldifto-day, when 14,885 halos were offered. There was a. full bench of buyers, and competition .was keen at reduced limits. The buyers’ limits did not come up to the vendors’ ideas of values, and in consequence a large
quantity was passed in. .The quality of wool was not so good as it was last year, it being heavier in grease and shorter in staple. There was an all-round drop in prices of id to 3J-d, compared with values at the December sale last year. The range of prices was:—Best halfbred, Hid to IBJd; medium halfbred, 10]<1 to lid; fine crossbred, lOd to lljd; medium crossbred, 9d to 10id; coarse crossbred, 8d to lOd ; inferior, 7id to 81d; locks; 4id to s id ; lambs’ BJd to lOjd; dead to 7ijd.
