Butter.—Tiie . mafket ; is steady and prices have been well maintained. There is.no change in Danish, Siberian, or Argentine. Australian is 118 sto 1245, New Zealand ,126 s to 128 s. The present price of unsalted butter is 2s below market price for salted. Cheese. —The market is quiet, but firm. Canadian white 61s to 68s, colored 66s to 675; New Zealand white 64s to 60s, colored 60s to 60s 6d ; Australian 60s to 635. Tlfere is no change in prices for English and Dutch Cheddars.

NAPIER SALES.

Napier, December 1

The first wool sale of the season was held - to-day before a full bench of buyers, numbering 39. The catalogue totalled U,B2s'hales, as against 13,000 for the first sale last season. Prices showed a drop of a penny to twopence in sympathy with the Auckland said. The competition was keen up to a certain figure, but a big Quantity was passed in, in the hope of an early rise in prices. The wool is not nearly in such good condition as last year, being heavy in grease.
