Replying to the Territorial deputation, Mr Asquith emphasised the unanimous testimony of distinguished officers and generals regarding the efficiency ,ol' the Territorials. The Committee; of Imperial Defence! regarded them as of the highest importance, and believed that the organisation was based on sound lines. The Government would meet all legitimate demands within the resources at its disposal.
