A series of attempts have been made lately-to kill or maim horses belonging to the Victoria Laundry Company. Twice animals have been driven over a steep hank with a drop of twentyfive feet, hut in each case were uninjured. This having failed, yesterday a horse was badly wounded. A great gash was noticed in the abdomen lOin long and Sin. deep. In a vet’s opinion, it mas made with some instrument like a pruning knife.

The matter is in the hands of the police.
