STEAMER ON FIRE.

Halifax (N.S.), November 13

The steamer Muirfieldhead arrived on fire, having steamed at top speed from mftl-ocean, where the cargo of cotton in the forward hold burst into flames. Steam was injected with three pipes, but failed to extinguish the fire. The civic apparatus suppressed the outbreak, saving cargo worth £IOO,OOO.
