Auckland R.C. December 26, '-'7, 29—Manawatu K.C. C.J.C. MEETING. Christchurch, November 1-3. A drizzle with a cold easterly wind pi evaded on the fast day of the Canterbury Jockey Club's Spring Meeting. The attendance showed a i'allingoff, but under the circumstances it was large. The going was fair, though soft. Results: — Port Cooper Hurdles, of 250sovs, once round and a distance —Coronetted 1, Umeraboy 2, Merceao 3; Scratched: Hunekaha. Five furlongs from home, Coronetted went to the front, and won by three lengths, four lengths between second and third. Kings way fell at the second hurdle while leading. Combination Wandered at the second to last fence. Time, 3min 1 3-osec. Cressy Welter Handicap, of 400 sovs., six furlongs.—Winning Way 1, Fbrmnal 2, Beldame 3. Scratched: Vanna, Moonglow and Sauci; Golden Morn led from Beldame and Vocation to the distance, where Winning Way shot out, winnig by two lengths. Time, lmin 14 1-osec.
Seymour Handicap, of llOsovs., 7 furlongs.—Chrysotis 1, Charlerose 2, Ada Mterling 3. All sta'rted. Baritone and Slogan led for the first half mile, the field stringing out bsylly. As they entered the straight, Ada Merling and Charlerose moved up and a nice race resulted in Chrysotis making a late run «and getting up in time to win by a good half length. Time, lmin 29 l-ssec.
