SERIES OF RESOLUTIONS.

A conference, of the Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association, which has been sitting for some time past, arrived at a number of resolutions, the principal among which are ; That the classification list, compared with other civil servants, is detrimental to Post and Telegraph officers. The Association protested against differentiation and urges rectification with a general increase in salaries in all grades above the rank and file. The Post Office sorters who have clerical duties should be placed in the clerical division. No deduction should be made from the annual leave on account oi sick leave. All overtime should be paid for in cash. Vacancies worth more than £ISO per annum to be filled by male officers, appellants to have the right of appearing in person or by representative before the Appeal Board, no pensions under the Superannuation Act to be less than £1 per week.
The conference objects to only 30 days being allowed to lodge, appeals as wholly inadequate, and asks lor ninety days; alsd that the classification list should be drawn up on similar lines to the Public Service List.
