Mr Paish, editor of the Statist, interviewed, said ho expected a lower cost of living would soon prevail. A financial stringency meant demands for goods likely to decrease, leading to over production, thus tending to lower prices. Mr Parish thought a reaction of the world’s trade was now due, but he did not think it likely to be serious, but a normal and quiet period.
