THE KIEFF TRIAL.
"THE BLACK HAND." [By Electric Times— Sydney Sun Special Cables. St. Petersburg,'November 11. Eeiliss was acquitted on a charge of ritual murder. Kieff is feverishly excited over the closing scenes of the trial. Hundreds of peasants belonging to the "Black Hand," drunk with vodka, are insulting passers-by indiscriminately. The Court was crowded with fashion-ably-dressed women, who paid high prices for seats. Beiliss was guarded in the Court by five soldiers with drawn swords. M. Maklakow,' defending him, said: "If you convict him it will not only be Beiliss but Russian justice. Not a single fact has been proved against him. The 'Black Hand' is attempting to prove the undesirability of allowing Jews to live among us."

The police are using the most rigorous methods to maintain order. The Minister of the Interior has warned the Governor that he will hold him responsible for acts of. violence. THE JURY'S FINDING. The jury, while acquitting''Beiliss, found that Yushinsky was murdered at the Zaitseff brickworks, belonging to the Jewish Surgical Hospital; also that forty-seven wounds Were inflicted and five cups of blood taken. These decisions are generally regarded as casting suspicion on the entire Jewish community, and are held in many quarters to-justify tne Ritual murder charge. During the jury's deliberations, a memorial service for Yushinsky was held at Saint Sofia church in the vicinity of the Court. The Bishop urged the congregation to conform to the Court's decision. Large crowds awaited the verdict. The police dispersed a gathering ot many agitators who were inciting mobs to pogroms. AFTER THE TRIAL. •. I (Received 10.50 a.m.) St. Petersburg, November 11. There was an attendance of 600 at a banquet at Kieff to the prosecuting barristers in the Beiliss case. The guests included Tushinsky's mother and stepfather, and Bishop Nicodemus. j
