A SHORTAGE OF TRUCKS. [Per Press Association.! Napier, October 30. There are loud complaints of a shortage of railway trucks. Over 1200 tons of coal, in addition to other morchandise, are lying at the port to fill orders up the line, and it cannot be got away because trucks are not available. TAIHAPES EX-MAYOR. Taihape, October 30. At a representative and numerous gathering of citizens in the Town Hall last night, Mr Anthony Nathan was entertained at a social and presented with a service plate in recognition of seven years' occupancy of the Mayoral chair. The utmost enthusiasm prevailed. Eloquent tributes were paid to the services of Mr Nathan, and also to those of Mrs X.lthan. The Mayor (Mr- McLennan) presided.
