THE SOUTH WALES STORM. RAIN, WIND, AND HAIL. fßv Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 9.40 a.m.) Sydney, October 30. A heavy rain and wind storm occurred at Ulmarra. Many trees were uprooted. *A man standing near a tree which was struck by lightning was knocked clown, and temporarily paralysed on one side.
A motor launch conveying a.large quantity of stock for store purposes sank. Two of the occupants, after a struggle reached the bank. Heavy hail fell at Wagga, doing damage to orchards and crops.
The mail coach from Kyogle to Casino was turned over by the gale. There were no passengers aboard.
A man known as Henry Stannard, 32, a farmhand, was killed by lightning while sitting on the Tow branch of a tree. At the inquest, evidence was given that he was an immigrant, and his real name was James Cooper. Brisbane, October 30. During \i storm at Boompa, .Reginald Bates, a youth, was killed by lightning. SENSATIONAL EXPERIENCES. London, October 29. The tornado devastated a strip twelve miles in length. Whole streets were levelled and scarcely a house in Celfynydd is left whole. Many inhabitants fractured their limbs.
