WANGANUI AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION.
One of the most pleasant and popular trips for holiday makers is an excursion to Wanganui, whose beautiful surroundings and grand river scenery always appeal, to those in quest of enjoyment. The host time to visi, Wanganui is undoubtedly the spring, when the country looks its be®t, and when also the great annual show is being held. This takes place on the 19th and 20th November, and this year’s gathering promises to eclipse all previous events. There are amongst the horses’ competitions for all breeds and classes, and in nearly all instances the prize money has been supplemented by valuable trophies, and it is anticipated that two score of competitors will be out in the jumping contests. The choice breeds in cattle and sheep, are all well represented, and the Wanganui Kennel Club’s exhibition of dogs is admittedly superior to any other in the North Island. There are 470 classes for every breed, variety and age, and the system and experience of the stewards seldom fails to satisfy exhibitors. In the domestic classes, farm produce, cookery and needlework are splendidly catered'for, while I the displays of art and metal work, and the public school children’s exjMbits are attractive and instructive. Entries close on November 5, at !) p.m., with the secretary, Selby .Morton, Box 152, Wanganui.
