The Government Meteorologist (Rev D. C. Bates) telegraphed this afternoon as follows:
The indications are for westerly strong winds to gale prevailing. The weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled, with ' rain following. The barometer has a falling tendency, but unsteady.
