Mr Massey, in reply to Sir. Joseph Ward, pointed out that the difference between the Bill of 1907 and the present Bill was that while the then Opposition was fighting the former for all it was worth, all the leading members of .the Opposition voted for thr Government Bill. The Opposition must take the responsibility of rejecting his offer to pass the clauses to 32 and then adjourn. The Opposition continued to object to an amendment put in at the instigation of the member for Thames (Mr T. W. Rhodes) alleging that his •interest in the goldfields lands created A position of grave political impropriety. The prospefets are in favor of the stonewall continuing till midnight
