[By Elecvkio Telegraph—Copt bight j Limes— Sypney Sun Special Cables (Received 8.0 a.m.) London, October 7. it is reported that substantial progress has been made in the scheme foi establishing an express mail servic between Great l.ritaiu and Australif via Canada.
Several British ship-owning firm; are interested, end are treating with a Canadian syndicate for the purchase of -100,00') acres at Cape SairH Charles, Labrador, to establish an icefree port. It is proposed to construct a cross Continental railway to the Pacific. It is claimed that the journey from London to Winnipeg will he performed in five days, with an additional 16 daws to Sydney.
Blacksod Bay,'County Mayo, Ite-U-nA will be thr> headnuar'ers of tin service on this side, and will he connected by a SDPfial railway with tin main service at Sligo.
The promoters have arrived at Ottawa to enlist the support of tin Canadian Government.
