NATIONAL PARK BOARD.
QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the Eg mont National Park Board was held yesterday, the Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr G. H. Bullard) presiding. Also present: Messrs W. Rogers, C. Goodson, W. A. Collis, J. E, Hill am 1 K. McK. Morison.
Mr J. B. Richards, lion, secretary of the Stratford 'Chamber of Commerce, wrote that his chamber had voted the sum of £lO 17s to be handed to the local board for expenditure on .the East Egmont track. He asked the board to vote a similar amoum for the same purpose.—After communicating with members, the secre- , tary of the board replied to the Stratford Chamber that the Board would grant £5 towards the proposed work and his action was confirmed by the meeting. It was decided that it be a recommendation to the Government that the Eltham County have a representative on the board, thereby increasing the board's membership to eleven, and that the appointment of R. Law to the position be confirmed.
Mr E. Jackson (Stratford) was ap pointed a member of the East Com inittee.
The secretary presented a financial statement showing the following bankbalances: New Plymouth £74 18s lid. Kaponga £lO lis Id, Stratford Is Gd Opunake £4 17s sd. The receipts of the Northern Committee for the period from June tr September amounted to £l2B 19s 3d and of the Southern Committee £' 9s 6d.
