The Government Meteorologist (Rev D. G. Bates) telegraphed this afternoon as follows: *
Westerly strong winds to gale, and veering by west to south. The weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled. Rain probable. Barometer unsteady, but has a falling tendency before rising.
