WEATHER FORECAST.
The Government Meteorologist (Mr Pemberton) telegraphed this afternoon as follows:
The indications are for westerly \yinds prevailing. The weather will probably bo cool and changeable: The night will probably be very cold with frosts inland. Barometer unsteady, biit has a rising tendency.
Bililo Society Sunday will bo observed at the St. Andrew’s Church tomorrow. The Rov.-J. Pattison will preach in the morning on the origin, object, and work of the British and Foreign Bible Society; and in the evening on “The Sword of the Spirit.”
The principals in “The Pirates oi Penzance” hold a rehearsal last night and all the items wore gone through creditably, Mrs Massey and Miss Grcenhalgh showing to particular advantage. All the other principals, however, sang their music well.
Mr Blomlield, part proprietor of the “Observer,” Auckland, left for Wellington b ytrain at midday to-day, to answer the writ .served on him for alleged contempt of Court. Mr Blomfield, in a motor car, and escorted by the Garrison Band and a large crowd, drove through • Queen Street to the station, where a crowd of about 1500 gave him an enthusiastic send-off.
