THE WRECKED TYRONE.
SALVAGE PROCEEDINGS,
[Pek Press Association.] Dunedin, October 3
1 o-clay was disappointing for those devoting their skill and energy to salving the Tyrone. The tug Terawhi ti went out at 10 a.m., but a fairly strong south-westerly made it impossible to transfer any gear to the steamer, and after standing by till -1 p.m., the Terawhi ti was compelled to return. The diver continued his investigations, but there is nothing fresh to report. The. Terawhiti will start very early to-morrow morning, those in charge anticpating very favorable conditions.
The Collector of Customs was to-day advised by the Minister of Marine that Captain Sandstrum (Dunedin) and Captain Hunter (Lytetlton) had been appointed as assessors to act with Mr AViddowson, S.M., to enquire into the circumstances surrounding the stranding of the vessel.
