A SUDDEN DEATH. <> [Per Press (Association.] Christchurch, October 1. An inquest was held this afternoon into the circumstances connected with the death of Henry Metcalf, aged 54 years, a tailor, residing in „ Springhold road, St. Albans, who died suddenly in - Hereford street yesterday afternoon. A verdict of death from heart failure was returned. DEATH IN AN ASYLUM. Christchurch, October 1. A mental hospital patient named Peter Wooley died last night after undergoing an. operation for rupture. SUICIDE WHILE DEMENTED. Auckland, October 1. An inquest was held to-day by Mi K, C. Cutten, S.M., into the circumstances connected with the death of Percy Butler, a young farmer from Hunua, who had been found with his throht cut on Thursday of last week. The injured;man died.in the Auckland hospital on Monday. Deceased’s father said that his son had been working at home on the farm. Deceased’s health had been good, and he did not drink. Death from self-inflicted injuries, deceased being of unsound mind at the time, was the verdict returned.
