Herihahri Lewis, 1 whos4 Whereabouts' have been urikriown since '29 th July, was‘to-day adjudicated bankrupt on a creditor’s petition, the amount of this debt being £2OO. It transpired that other petitions have been'issued with the Same object,' but could not be served; One Of these is in respect of a debt due to W. E. Holliday, Wanganui, for £IB3O, and another debt of £2700 due to Algar Williams. Among other liabilities are: Empire Loan and Discount Co. £IOOO, R. £2900, F. Hill £997, F. Leslie £464. The affidavits stated that a number of Lewis’s transactions had gone wrong. He had said he-had had bad luck. Cheques issued by him were dishonoured. The present petition was served on debtor’s wife, who, with her children, has been left in Wellington.
