THE SUNFLOWER MINSTRELS.
In another column there appears an advertisement from the Sunflower Minstrels, which visit Stratford on Thursday next. We learn that the troupe has met with great success wherever, it has appeared, and we have no. doubt Stratford will not be behind in welcoming them. From beginning to end the performance piomises to be promotive of hilarious laughter. BERNARD’S PICTURES. To-night’s change of pictures at the popular amusement house is stated by the management to equal any series yet screened in Stratford. The star feature, “Sacrificed to the Lions,” is oyer 2000 ft. in length, and is no doubt the strongest backwoods drama of Indian .frontier life, showing wild animals and Indian life true to nature. “Lady Peggy’s Escape” is a Kalem drama, taken in Ireland on their last famous trip, introducing some of Erin’s great beauty spots. “Perfidy of Mary” is an A.B. celebrated scenario. “Warwick Chronicle,” “Picturesque Crotia,” “Canine Sherlock Holmes,” introducing the wonderful dog detective, Bosun, of the French Police Department, and a quartette of sparkling comedies is headed by “Stop Thief.” Mr Dan. McSweeney, a comedian of great, repute known as the little , man with the big voice, will appear next Friday evening in the latest selection of comic songs and hits. “THE PIRATES' OF PENZANCE.” In view of the presentation of “The Pirates of Penzance” at the Town Hall on Wednesday and Thursday of next week the members of the Operatic Society are rehearsing steadily. ReWodnesday and Friday, the hour of commencement being 7.30,and the final dress rehearsal will take place on the evening before the first performance. It is promised that the chorus of policemen will be the feature of , the evening, and all who have heard Mrs Massey in her music say -that she will give the audience a surprise.
