The army manoeuvres opened in Bucks on novel lines, 50,000 regulars attacking a skeleton army consisting mainly of Territorials, with the object of testing the staffs in the. handling of largo masses of troops, especially in the maintenance oi\ communications and'transport. General French is commander of the invaders, and also director of the manoeuvres. The defenders are employing three squadrons of aeroplanes and also airships.
