A GRUESOME FIND.
DEAD IN HER HUT. Bourke, September 8. A gruesome discovery was made here yesterday. An old-age pensioner, Mrs Dale, better known as Mary Kalemink, has lived for years in a hut on the common, close to town. She had not been seen for several days. Yesterday two women called at the place and found Mrs Dale dead in bed. Her dog, which had been shut in the room and could not get out, was lying on the bed, and refused to leave. The women gave information to the police, and Constables Walsh and Smith entered the room and drove the dog out. They then discorered that the dog had eaten the whole of the flesh from deceased's face and neck.
