BOWLING.
The. annual mooting of members of tlia Waitara Bowling Club is to be held next Wednesday evening. It is stated' that the green is looking well, and will he fit for play at the end of tho month. Mr Kissling, who has been a member of the Manaia Bowling Club for some years, was presented with a set of bowls, entree dish,' and biscuit casket by the members of the local I Club on Monday night. Mr Horace iDicon. president of the Club, in making the presentation (states the Hajwca Star correspondent), said that Mr Kissling had always taken an active j>art/in the Club's affairs, and he himself had■ .received instructions and liclp-in the game from Mr Kissling when a new member of the Club. Speeches wwo, also made by Messrs Moult,- Borrio, . Bennett, Hunt, and Moldon. Mr Kissling replied very feelingly on behalf of himself, Mrs Kissling, and family for the good wif.hes extended to tlfeih-by the members of the Club, and also thanked them for the very nice presents they had given him. He i would always have kind recollections of the many pleasant times spent on the Manaia green. He further stated that all vor.ng players would do well to visit other greens as often as possible in orcbr to exchange ideas as to piny, etc., besides helping the selection committee by rolling up to matches when selected.
