The chief of the 'Forestry Department in Bt&kU is visiting Sydney, with a view to securing new varieties of Eucalyptus, which already is being extensively cultivated in Brazil. (Received 10.20 a.m.) ' Sydney, September 19.
The annual report of the InspectorGeneral of Military Forces, referring to the absence of liquor from last year's camps, says: "On the whole, the absence is an advantage, and as the men who have been accustomed to an alcoholic canteen complete their service its absence will not be noticed during their short training period in the militia."

The famous Angus stud of Shorthorns 1 were put up to auction, and 190 animals aggregated 8437 guineas, the bulls averaging 96 guineas and the females forty guineas.
