SUPREME COURT.
NEW PLYMOUTH SESSIONS. [Pun Prices Association.! At the New Plymouth sessions o!' the Supremo Court yesterday, Mr Justice Edwards presiding, the following applications for discharge from bankruptcy were granted unopposed by the D.O.A; —Samuel Marsh, on the motion of Mr I). Hutchon; William Edmund Nicholls, on the motion of Air E. E. Wilson; James Murphy, on the motion of Mr A. R. Standish ; and J. T. Aloir, on the motion of Air J. C. Nicholson (instructed by Air R. Spence). J. IT. Hempton, Colelctor of Customs at New Plymouth (Mr F. AVilson) appealed against the decision recently given in the Alagistrate’s Court at Waitara in the case Hempton versus Ratten bury, a prosecution under the Shipping and Seamen's Act. Air J. C. Nicholson appeared for respondont, and after legal argument, His Honor reserved his decision. NAPIER SESSIONS. Napier, September 10. At the Supremo Court to-day, Patrick AlcNamara was found guilty oi arson at Hastings, and of having made a false declaration in connection with a claim for insurance, and remanded for, sentence. Samuel Crago Toms, for attempting to discharge a firearm with intent to do grievous bodily harm to Arthur Hill Toms, was found guilty of assault and remanded for sentence.
