Br. Walsh, of the'Theistic Church, advocated the elimination of the word Hell from the Bible. American revisors had already expunged it from the Old Testament. British revisers explained that it did not mean a place of torment. Of twenty-three cases-in the New Testament ten represented a mis-translation of Hades. If future revisers refused to translate "Gehenna" by "hell" the hideous word would he swept out of the Bible.
