[United Press Association.] London, September 13. Seven hundred employees at the late Lord Overton's chemical works. Glasgow, struck for a ten per cent, advance, and have been informed thai unless they resume the old rates o. wages will be reduced. (Received 9.10 a.nv.) London, September 14.
The painters' ballot has accepted an immediate increase of one penm per 'hour. Other points, including another halfpenny have been referred to arbitration. Master decorators, employing 7000 men, have agreed, tt the terms, and the men's leaders arc asking the master builders to do likewise. I .

The position in the wharf labourers' strike is unchanged. It has not extended yet, though it is reported that they have threatened to apply it to the Ulimaroa arriving from New Zealand to-morrow.
