GOLFERS'IS AN ACCIDENT [Per Press Association.] Wanganui, September 15
A& >a motor car containing Arthur Duncan, Arthur Gililes, Harold Thomson and-Gonyille Saunders, well-known golfers, was proceeding to the golf links this morning the frqnt whflol of the ear side-slipped when the driver attempted to clear a dog in the main street. The ;9 pokes of the wheel broke, the tyre burst, and the car turned completely over. Duncan, Gililes, and Saunders, who were in the back seat, were thrown clear. of the car, escaping with a few bruises. The driver of the car, a man named Carter, fell heavily on the side of his head inside the car, and was picked up unconscious. Thomson also fell on the *«Je of his head with the car on r top of him. Both men were carried into adjoining shops and medical aid was•ought. The driver eoon recovered consciousness, and Thomson also reTreed later. He has strained the muscles'of his arm, but apparently neither had any bones broken, though their faces were both much cut about and their bodies bruised. The car was smashed considerably.
