EVIL OF UNEMPLOYMENT

Melbourne, September 12. The House passed a motion that the time has arrived to take steps to remove the evil of unemployment in Australia. Commenting, Mr Glynn announced that he was formulating questions for submission to friendly societies, whose co-operation in national insurance was desired. The Government had decided to introduce measures which would at least mitigate, if not remove, unemployment.

A MEMBER REMOVED. Sydney, September 12. The censure motion was negatived by" thirty-eight to thirty-one. During the debate Mr ■ Wood was removed by the Speaker's orders.
