The House met at 2.30. The Industrial Conciliation and Ar hitvation Amendment' Bill and thd'Ai to Public Woyks,and Land Settlenier. The report of the High Commission erV Office was presented. Mr J. "I Young voiced complaints he had hear concerning the treatment meted 6: to visitors to the High Commissioner' Office in London. Mr T. Buxtbn, Si J. Ward, Sir W. C. Buchanan, Mr I M.' Isitt and Mr E: Newman Voice their knowledge of the excellence r the attendance at the office. Mr W. F. Massey said that he \vh very glad to learn that the experience of members with the office had hec so satisfactory. He had receive practically no complaints with regai' to 'the attendance at the office. H had, however, received numerous coir plaints about the site. The Govern meat had now concluded arrange •ments for a new building for the'Hig Commissioner. The new'offices woul lie located in the Strand, in a buildin of six storeys, the lease being for 8 years. He was convinced that th premises would be worthy of the Do minion

Mr Massey informed the House tha he had just received a cablegram fron the Federal Defence Minister in -Melbourne to the effect that Australia.')battleship Australia was in touch wit) South Africa and Australia, an; would be glad to forward any message- from the Government to Soutl Africa. Mr Massey had replied : "Til' Prime Minister, Capetown : New Zealand sends greetings to South Africa by way of H.M.S. Australia, and rejoices that th-r.ee of the overseas Dominions of the Empire are to-day in communication with each other by n now and up-to-date All-red route." LOCAL ELECTIONS. Mr Herdman moved the second read, ing of the Local Elections and Polls Amendment Bill, which was carried without a division. The Crime Minister'moved that the report on agricultural education in New South Wales, prepared by Mr E. Newman. M.P.", be circulated. This was agreed to. and the debate on the subject, which was adjourned this afternoon, will be resumed at a future date. The House adjourned at 11.25 p.m..
