The Pall Mall Gazette states that Messrs Thomas Borthwick and Sons, Ltd., has secured the army contracts for frozen beef at about 3Jd, the Government supplying the transport. Many old contractors complain that the middlemen are being squeezed out. The army in 'future will have frozen beef for three days and-fresh beef for four days in the week. The soldiers dislike cold mutton, and also the fact that the mutton is always frozen.
