Webster, Dobssn and Co.'s Report. On Tuesday last wo hold our usual Stratford sale. There was only a moderate yarding of store cattle, but, tho springing heifer yards wore well j filled. Competition for store cattle was a trifle quiet as compared -with late sales, and several pons were passed j at the hammer. We, however, dispos-i ed of the whole yarding after tho sale. In the heifer yards there waS| a good attendance with very spirited 1 ,, competition for good sorts, close to calving, amt all of this quality sold, rapidly. For inferior and backward) heifers there was practically no cn-j quiry, and vendors should realise that this class 1 , finds more willing purenasers in the'store yards. We quote prices as follows;—Yearling steers o3s to 60s, do heifers 45s to 635, empty heifers £2 18s to £3 ss, store cows £4 5s to £5, in calf heifers (small) £3] Gs to £3 11s, fat cows £5 8s 6d to £6 10s, springing heifers, Jersey strain, a nice line of 22 on account Mr G. Jones sold ,well at *£6 to £lO ss, Shorthorn heifers £5 5s to £B, backward heifers £4 io £5, cows £B. We report private sales as follows, with enquiry easier2-year steers (small) £4 4s, colored yearling heifers £4 4s, £4 Bs, £3 10s, £3 15s, fat , wethers 25s 6d, 26s '9d,’ yearling steers 49s 6d, 535, 655, fat cows £7 3s 6d, £7 13s 6d, yearling heifers £3, £2 12s 6d, dairy cows £8 10s, £9, springing heifers £6, £6 7s 6d, for a nice line of 110 colored heifers £4 10s, in calf heifers £5, store cows £3 15s, £4 3s 6d, £4 8s 6d, £4 12s 6d.
