The bride, Princess Augustine Victoria, the daughter of Prince William, OT Willie]m of Hohenzollern, belongs to the elder branch of the historic House of Hohenzollern, the younger line of which has at its head the German Emperor. The King oi Prussia and Prince William, the bride's father, alike descend from one Count Thassile of Zollerii, in Swabia, one of the generals of Charlemagne. Count Frederick, his successor, built a castle on the heights of the Zollern hill in Swabia, and hence the famous name. Tho older family remained Roman Catholic; the younger turned Protestant, and became Margaves of Bradenburg, then dukes, next Kings of Prussia, and finally German Emperor.
