HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE
Last night a very fair attendance greeted the current set of films at Bernard's, when the programme screened met with approval, i'ho usual, amateur song trials wore run through. The comic competition was won by Mr Bert Davis, whilethe sentimental song prize was divided between Mr T. Wilson and Mr Joe Crofts. The same series of star films will he screened to-night for the last time, making way for a new star feature programme on Monday evening, when "The Secret Cupboard" (Nat Pinkerton detective story) will be included. Mr Vernon, whose hobby is to collect jewels, lives alone, except for an aged man servant. He shows his game to a friend Johnson, who tells his mates of the valuables lie has seen, and is overheard by one of the "X" band, who determine to steal the game. Mr Vernon is kidnapped and forced to indicate the position of the jewels. Meanwhile the servant has informed Nat Pinkerton, who substitutes an empty box for them. This the thieves carry away, and Nat, keeping to their trail, discovers Mr Vernon shut in a vault. He frees him and the "X" gang are afterwards captured.
