Four hundred leading employers at Dublin have resolved on friendly feeling for trade unionism, but that the Transport Union is intolerable. A majority of -100 have signed a pledge not to employ members of the union. THE PAINTERS' PROTEST. (Received 12.30 p.m.) London, September 4. The painters protested against the resumption of a penny increase and urged a national strike .of painters. The Lord Mayor of Dublin appealed for a truce and suggested that the employers and strikers should elect a conciliation board.
