BOY- shot BY HIS MATE
IPsa Press Association.] Gisborne, September 1. , Edgar Evans,, aged' 14, was shot dead by a companion named Harold Parker, aged 13, with whom he and four others were out shooting yesterday. After lunch, one of the party loaded the gun and laid it on, the ground. Parker picked it up, not knowing it was loaded, and pulled the I trigger, shooting Evans, who was only p a few feet away.
DIED IN THE HOSPITAL. Christchurch, September 1. Patrick Ashman, a resident of Ashburton, who has been on remand on a charge of drunkenness ever since April, died in the hospital this ‘morning .
