[Per Press Association.] Levin, August 29. A. J. Kemp, a Levin dairy farmer, was convicted by Mr Poynton, S.M., ifor selling mijlk adulterated with water. A sample was taken at the Levin railway station as the cans I were being consigned to Wellington. |The police asked for an exemplary .penalty, as the retailers in Wellington were held responsible by law im'mediately the milk passed into their ipossession. Defendant pleaded innocence of how the water got in the cans. A fine of £5 and costs was inflicted.
