The following paragraph translated from a Belgian paper is of interest: — A very rare occurrence has to be chronicled in the winning of the Grand Premier Prix, which is open to the world for cello playing. This has been unanimously awarded to a mere boy. This unusual feat was accomplished by George Ellwood. His playing was marvellous. The trio are the fines to that we have heard. John Prouse, who is with the Company, has toured with Dolores, Kubelik, Bachaus, and other great artists. The prices for the concert here will be 3s. 2s and Is. . Box plan at Grubb's and opens on Friday next.
SIS MAJESTY'S PICTURES. A fairly large audience greeted a remarkable change of new star fea-1 ture pictures last night at His Majesty's, when "Zizomar and The Eel Skin" (detective drama) was screened. It is one of the finest of |his series yet seen here. The French performers, the scenery, dresses and animal acts are splendid. The different scenes depicting the great murderous band of robbers trying to outwit France's leading detective are true to life and not overdone as In most cases up to date hydroplanes, motor boats, and large ocean-going steamers arc engaged in this marvellous production' which is no fake, but taken from continental incidents. John Bunny, the famous Vitagraph comedian, is fatter and funnier than ever in the "Locket Comedy." Genoa, Italy's famous beauty spot is stereoscopically screened in natural colours. "Invisible Hands" a clever trick film, met with great applause. The remainder of the big programme includes some great comic and dramatic subjects. Friday will see the comic recitation trials, the following having already been nominated, W'll Symes, Boy Davis, Joe Crofts, and Bert Davis.
