The Government Metwrologist (Kev D. C. Bates) telegraphed this afternoon as follows :
The indications are for :—Southeasterly winds, strong to gale prevailing. The weather will probably prove cold and showery; a very cold'night, with frosts inland, may be expected. The weather should improve. Barometer rising.
