m INVERCARGILL OUTBREAK. [Per Press Association.] Invercargill, August 23. A fire occurred at 9.30 a.m. to-day at a boot shop in Dee Street, owned ind dccupied by John McCurdy. An addition was being made to the building, and ,bags of lime had been left dear the wall. Heavy rain fell during the night, and the water fell on the lime, which caused the outbreak. The building was seriously damaged, and bhe stock suffered considerably from heat and smoke. Insurances are as follow :-*-Stock—South British, £I4OO, W Zealand £Boo] United £2OO. Building—South British £450, Alli•tnce, London and,' Liverpool and Slobe, and Standard £225 each.
