YARRA BAY TRAGEDY. SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMjSTANces. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] An aboriginal girl gathering bottles left discarded by Sunday picnickers in the scrub at Yalta Bay, discovered the body of Charles John Stratton, 33, a wharf laborer, who left his home at Chippendale on Sunday afternoon, saying that he was going to Yarra Bay to play “two-up.” It is not known what money he had, but he bad only Is 4d when found. Jhc police are disinclined to accept the murder theory. They say that the scrub is frequented by parties in search of small gamp, and that possibly a stray, bullet killed Stratton. A black tracker found tracks where a couple had been sitting eating oranges, and also a man’s track from the spot where Stratton was found to the spot where an empty cartridge lay. It is stated that Stratton was frequently seen in the locality by night.
