NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. On Friday, Bth inst., at my Kaponga yards, T had a good entry of cattle, the full yrding lieing cleared at the ■following prices:—Yearling heifers £2 Is to £3 3s, yearling steers £2 9s t< £2 18s, aged cows £1 7s to £2 Ms, store cows £3 7s to £-1 os, forward and lat cows £5 5s to £6 4s, empty 2 year heifers £3 12s, bulls £4 3s, springing heifers £6 10s to £8 10s, good calved heifers £8 ss. At Urenui on Monday, 11th inst., despite the very wet day, there was a good yarding, including a number of first-clasfi heifers, which did not quite realise their proper value, although fairly satisfactory prices were obtained. Store cattlo sold very readily. 1 supply prices:—Yearling heifers £2 15s to £3 12s, mixed yearlings £2 13s 6d, yearling steers £2 4s to £2 7s, and £3 8s for a line containing some 15 months cattle. Empty heifers £3 4s tb £4 2s, 2 year steers £4 2s store cows £3 6s 6d to £4 3s, fat cows up to £B, fat heifers (small) £4 18s, best springing heifers up to £7 16s, others £5 5s to £5 15s, dairy cows up to £7 15s, small 2 tooth wethers Us 3d, 2 tooth ewes (some empty) 13s 9<l, hoggets lis to 13s sd, culls 7s 9d. »
On Tuesday, at Rahotu, I had a fair entry of mostly rough classes, practically all of which were cleared at the following prices:—Yearling steers £2 Os 6d to £2 19s 6d, yearling heifers up to £3 ss, poor lines of mixed yearlings £1 7s 6d to £1 10s, store cows £3 to £3 17s, choice Jersey springing heifers £ll 15s, good springing heifers £6 to £7 15s, hulls £4 to £5, dairy cows up to £lO, 2 and 3 year geldings £25 each. On Wednesday, 13th inst., at Puniho, for a clearing sale in the estate of. the late W. J. Stevenson, I had an excellent attendance and good competition right through for all classes offered. The oows were a mixed line, in poor condition, and calving right through the year. Bidding, however, was brisk for all best quality cows/ a very satisfactory sale resulting. Best young cows sold at from £9 10s to £ll, others poor in condition or carrying rather much ago £5 15s to £B, empty cows £3 15s to £5 ss, bulls £3 5s to £5 15s, springing heifers £5 7s 6d to £7, small in calf heifers £3 15s to £4 12s 6d. The horses were a good Jot, the half-draught gelding "Punch" realising £3O, four year old filly £27 10s, 3 year colt £l7, yearling £lO 10s, brood mare £7, 10s, hack £7 15s, mixed yearlings, £2 10s, weaners £1 4s, calves 7s. - • PRIVATE .SALES...
