A DANGEROUS PAIR.
CHARGE OF ASSAULT. DISMISSED. [Per. Press Association.] Auckland, August IS. Henry Naylor, 33, and Claude Naylor, 31, were charged, at the Police Court, with being found by night with offensive weapons, not having a valid reason, and also that they assaulted Archie Douglas. The latter, in evidence, said he was talking to his mate, Edwards, when one of the accused bumped him into a ditch. Claude Naylor produced a tomahawk, saying: "I'll cut you t( pieces." The Naylors then left. Edwards called the police, and accused were arrested. The constable found on them an empty revolver, and a policeman's baton, and on the way to the station one of the accused dropped a big sword and a knife. They appeared to have been drinking. They stated that they carried the weapons because they intended to frighten a brother-in-law, who had not been treating their sister properly.. ' The Magistrate dismissed tin charge of assault against Henry, and fined Claude Naylor £o and ordered him to bo prohibited.
