An Australian correspondent, writing! to The Times, and referring to tha Dominions Commission's visit, ■ays that Australia is still very gauche, and lias not learnt, as has her sister Canada, to make the best of. herself before visitors. Consequently it is easy for the casual visitor to take her all wrong and go away with vague feelings of disappointment and almost dislike. ' The mercantile community in Sydney answered questions with an air of at bing bothrddcolchw ele?l :at2aenSu restrained, though polite, resentment at being bothered. He predicts that the Commission will recommend a reduction of the cable rates, the encouragement of cotton-growing, the development of family immigration, and the establishment of a permanent Imperial Board of Trade.
