The Scarborough incident tends to loosen the Labor support of the Government. THE BROKEN HILL STRIKE. Sydney,, August 17. The strike of shop assistants and warehouse employees at Broken Hill is unaltered. The shops are open and doing the best they can without assistants. POSTAL SERVANTS TO FORM A UNION. London, August 16. A select committee of Post Office servants recommends a trade union, the recognition of a forty-eight hour week for postmen, and the non-aboli-tion of Christmas-boxes.
