HIS MAJESTY’S PICTURES. To-night’s change of programme will bring forth a varied set of new films. The dramatic portion is headed by a remarkable detective scenario “Shadows of the Night,” “Confidence,” and “The Little Organ Player of San Juan,” are pronounced to he photo plays of more than usual interest, and in which the natural scenery of the old Spanish missions of South California tend to make most beautiful settings. The iatest Pathe Gazette and topical budget are as usual full of current happenings throughout the world. The comic portion is well represented in the huge Vitagraph comedy “Strike Breakers.” The management announce that in' order to encourage local talent amateur trials will he held every Friday, August 22ud, when prizes from one guinea downwards will he presented to the successful comic singers, the audience to judge the competitions. There will be no matinees until further notice.
