SUICIDE AT PORIRUA.

[Per Press Association.] Wellington, August 13

A patient named Ellen May Huh- [ bard committed suicide at the Porirua Mental Hospital this morning by | hanging herself to an electric, light bracket in a lavatory with a p ece ol ticking from a mattress. The evidence at the inquest showed that she 'was admitted’ to the institution in (March last from Wanganui, She did not at any time display suVidal tenjdoncios. She was discovered hanging jby a nurse, who said that she must |have been at the end of the ward when deceased left. A verdict was returned that the cause <;f death was suicide by hanging. No blame was attached to the nurse or anyone else.
