CHIDLEY IN GAOL. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] Sydney, August 1,3. Judge Murray dismissed Chidloy’s ap peak against convictions for begging alms and offensive behaviour in the Domain. On the lirst charge he was sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment,
■and on the second charge he was ordered to find a recognisance for his good behaviour for a year, in default ( two months’ imprisonment. Chidloy, (arguing his case at length, claimed that be bad made a discovery of the utmost importance to humanity. The 'Judge said that he thought Chidley 'was doing what he considered right ; i but there were tilings 'scientists might discuss that were conventions which -decent people did not care to .talk about. It was not right that ’such questions should be discussed broadcast. Chidley goes to gaol.
